Televangelist Pat Robertson lectured against the Fairness Act on Tuesday, saying the ace LGBTQ rights measure would demolish “the sacredness of America.”
“If you need to expedite the judgment of God this country, you simply keep this stuff up,” he said on the Christian Telecom Network.
Robertson, 89, utilized a scriptural reference to assault the bill, which plans to prohibit separation dependent on sexual introduction and sex personality. The Popularity based controlled House is required to cast a ballot soon on the reintroduced measure and will probably endorse it. President Donald Trump restricts it.
“I was perusing in Leviticus where it says on account of these things the land ‘will upchuck you out,'” Robertson said in the clasp above, shared by Conservative Watch. “Regurgitation you out. I figure God will say, ‘I’ve had it with America on the off chance that you do this sort of stuff, I will dispose of you as a nation.'”
Robertson has a background marked by making homophobic remarks, so his flame and-brimstone tirade should come as no surprise.
Many in the religious network don’t share his perspectives. An interfaith alliance of Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus and others assembled in Washington on Tuesday to help the Fairness Act.
