George Clooney lived to tell the story of a startling 2018 cruiser crash that could’ve effectively been lethal.
The entertainer, riding a bike on the Italian island of Sardinia, slammed head-on into a vehicle that made a wrong move toward his path.
“I hit him at 70 miles for each hour, so it was awful,” Clooney said in an ongoing meeting with The Hollywood Columnist.
“I split my head protector into equal parts. It thumped me out of my shoes. I was hit hard. I was simply trusting that the turn will kill since I broke his windshield with my head.”
Video demonstrates that the impact flung Clooney high into the air:
Incredibly, Clooney got away genuine damage. He said the accident dropped him with slight agony in his pelvis and wounds to a leg and an arm, according to the nearby outlet La Nuova.
Clooney revealed to The Hollywood Correspondent that he thought at the time his odds of enduring were thin.
“I thought, ‘alright, well, that is my neck.’ On the off chance that you get nine lives, I got every one of them spent on the double — so I can relinquish cruiser riding for some time,” the entertainer jested.
He clowned that he learned he “can’t fly.” He said he and maker Give Heslov, who was riding a bike with Clooney at the time, were swearing off cruisers.
“It got both Concede and me, following 40 years of riding together, off of cruisers for good. I needed to stop. It was terrible,” he said.
In 2007, Clooney and after that sweetheart Sarah Larson were harmed in a bike crash with a vehicle in New Jersey. Clooney suffered a hairline rib fracture and Larson broke her foot.
