LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. (AP) — A man who Florida specialists initially said unintentionally shot himself in a grocery store checkout line was really shot by his significant other’s gun.
The Pasco Region Sheriff’s Office disclosed to the Tampa Narrows Times on Monday that appointees’ examination demonstrates that 69-year-old Vernon Messier was shot Sunday when his better half’s satchel tumbled off a counter at a Land O’ Lake Publix, causing the two-shot derringer inside to fire.
The shot struck Messier in the shin. Delegates said 67-year-old Lillian Messier has a covered weapons license. No charges are normal and agents said Vernon Messier is recovering.
