CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) — A Missouri district endeavoring to enroll new firemen is getting genuine with its attempt to sell something, saying in signs posted outside its stations that the activity offers “Hard Work, Odd Hours, Low Pay (and) Cool Helmets!!”
KFVS-television reports that the Scott Region Country Flame Assurance Locale’s boss, Jeremy Perrien, says most notices are “somewhat exhausting.” He says that is the reason they “needed to add some humor to it” and “endeavor to grab individuals’ eye.” The flame area posted an image of the assistance needed message on its Facebook page this week.
Perrien says they’re short around 15 firemen, and seldom have a full staff. The enrollment promotion comes in the midst of a deficiency of volunteer firemen in the Heartland.
