DJ Khaled and John Legend regarded killed rapper Nipsey Hussle with their presentation of “Higher” on “Saturday Night Live.”
The music video for the tune, highlighting the three men, was discharged Friday about two months after Hussle was killed. The extremist rapper was shot to death outside of his Long distance race attire store in the South Los Angeles people group he adored. “Higher” is one of 15 tracks on DJ Khaled’s most recent collection, “Father of Asahd.”
“Long live Nipsey Hussle. The Long distance race proceeds,” said Khaled, who wore a sweatshirt with a picture of Hussle on “SNL.”
In a tweet before the “Higher” video was discharged, Khaled said it was recorded only days before Hussle’s death.
Hussle “imparted his vitality and energy to me” in the video, he said. “After much petition and reflection; and with the full gift of [Hussle’s] family, I am imparting that minute to you.”
He included that “vibrating on a ‘Higher’ level was the quintessence of Nipsey’s soul.”
Khaled and Legend were joined on “SNL” by Khaled’s album collaborators Resigned Plant, Sza, J Balvin, Huge Sean, Lil Wayne, Jeremih and Lil Baby.
