Warning: Spoilers for “Round of Positions of royalty” below!
CNN’s Chris Cuomo brought up on Monday that somewhere in the range of 3,500 American girls have been named either Daenerys or Khaleesi to pay tribute to the “Round of Positions of authority” character — something guardians may now lament given the dark unforeseen development on the HBO show Sunday night.
Cuomo asked individual CNN have Wear Lemon: “In case you’re a parent, and you named your child after a character in a Television program that you adore, and that character ends up being a murderous neurotic, what do you do?”
Lemon had a “simple” answer:
Vuture and BuzzFeed addressed a few guardians who named their children after the “Round of Positions of royalty” character, and they didn’t appear to have any regrets.
“What young lady hasn’t blown up when they see their entire world disintegrating around them?” Nikki Sotto, who has a little girl named Khaleesi, told BuzzFeed. “I feel for her.”
Hector Spirits Rivera, who has a 6-year-old girl named Daenerys, likewise has no regrets.
“I still love her name,” he told Vulture. “I have affectionate recollections on account of that name, in view of how connected I have been to this series.”
He included, notwithstanding, that he’s not content with how the character has turned out on the show.
“It may be a decent learning open door as well,” Danny Cisneros, who likewise has a 6-year-old Daenerys, told Vulture. “To demonstrate how even great deeds can go off to some far away place with awful decisions.”
